Birmingham · after dark

need prayer?

The city has its nights. So does life.

Hey friend. You scanned this for a reason. The lights are still on, and so is Heaven. Whatever you're carrying tonight, you don't have to carry it alone.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." — John 1:5 (NIV)

Psalm 30:5

"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."

The Way Home

Friend, God loves you. Not the cleaned-up version, the real you. Here is the road home, straight from the book of Romans.

  1. Step 1 · We all fall short

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

    — Romans 3:23 (NIV)

Friend, nobody has it all together. Not you, not me. That's where all of us start.

  2. Step 2 · Sin has a cost, God offers a gift

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

    — Romans 6:23 (NIV)

What we earn is separation. What God offers is life, and it's free.

  3. Step 3 · He loved you first

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

    — Romans 5:8 (NIV)

Jesus didn't wait for you to get better. He came for you right in the middle of it.

  4. Step 4 · Come home

"If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

    — Romans 10:9–10 (NIV)

It isn't about being good enough. It's about trusting Him and saying yes.

A prayer to come home

There are no magic words. God hears your heart. If you're ready, you can pray this:

"Jesus, I need You. I know I've sinned and fallen short, and I can't fix it on my own. Thank You for loving me first and dying on the cross for me. I believe God raised You from the dead. Today I turn from my old way and trust You as my Lord and Savior. Forgive me, make me new, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I give You my life. Lead me home. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Welcome home, friend. What's next?

  • Tell someone. Share your yes with a believer you trust, or send us a prayer request so we can celebrate and pray for you.
  • Read the Bible. Start with the Gospel of John to get to know Jesus.
  • Talk to God every day. Prayer is just honest conversation. Start where you are.
  • Find a church family. Look for a Bible-believing local church where you can grow and belong.
  • Get baptized. Ask a local church about baptism, a public step that shows your new life in Christ.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

Our statement of faith
  • There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • The Bible is God's inspired Word, true and trustworthy for life and faith.
  • Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead.
  • Every person has sinned and needs a Savior. Salvation is a free gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus alone, not by our works.
  • The Holy Spirit lives in every believer, giving new life, comfort, and power to follow Jesus.
  • Jesus will return, and those who trust in Him will live with God forever.

Psalm 30:5 · Joy comes in the morning

Before you know it,
you can see the sky again.

The night doesn't last forever, friend. Look up — the Son is rising.
